In 1970, I received a Bachelor of Science and then a Bachelor of Architecture at the City College of New York in 1971. After working for a short time, I returned to school and I earned a Master of Architecture and a Master of City Planning at the University of California, Berkeley. For several years I taught design and drawing at UC Berkeley in the College of Environmental Design. In 1976 I opened up my architectural office in Berkeley. Over time, a number of my architectural projects received awards and were published nationally and internationally.
In late 2021, after 45 years in practice, I closed my architectural office and began my watercolor journey. Since then, my paintings have been included in exhibitions sponsored by the American Watercolor Society, the California Watercolor Association, the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, the California Art Club, the San Diego Watercolor Society, Watercolor West, the Society of Watercolor Artists, the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, the Watercolor Society of West Texas, the Sausalito Center for the Arts, the Belvedere Tiburon Library, Gallery Route One among others.
Although I have no formal painting background, I have studied with Bay Area artists Leslie Wilson, Michael Reardon, David Savellano, and Stephen Berry, experiences that have helped refine my technique and artistic vision.
